Editorial Policy
How MoveWell writes, reviews and corrects exercise guides, and how we keep advertising separate from coaching advice.
Our commitment
Every exercise guide on MoveWell is written by a named, qualified coach and reviewed by a chartered physiotherapist before publication. We do not publish guides we have not coached, and we do not accept payment for a rating or recommendation.
How a guide gets published
- A qualified coach writes the guide and its progressions.
- We coach the movement with real beginners and note where the instructions fail.
- Our medical reviewer checks loading, range of motion, contraindications and every safety claim for accuracy.
- We programme the progressions ourselves for at least four weeks to confirm they work.
- The page is checked for accessibility, mobile layout and clarity before publishing.
Corrections and updates
If you report an error we re-examine the section, consult our reviewer where needed, and either correct the guide or explain why it stands. Substantive changes are dated at the bottom of the page. We do not silently rewrite content after criticism.
Report an error to coaches@movewell.fit or through the contact form.
Evidence and expertise
Programming recommendations reflect current exercise-science consensus and our own coaching practice. Where evidence is mixed — static stretching, foam rolling, cold-water immersion — we say so rather than overstating the case. We do not cite studies we have not read.
Advertising and independence
We are funded by display advertising and occasional affiliate links, both clearly disclosed. Advertisers never see a guide before publication and have no input into content, ratings or recommendations. Sponsored content is labelled at the top and is never presented as a neutral guide.
We do not use AI to generate coaching advice, exercise photography presented as real demonstrations of our own coaching, or testimonials. If that policy changes it will be disclosed here first.
What we refuse
- Before-and-after transformation content, which teaches readers to value the wrong outcome.
- Supplement promotion, other than noting when protein intake matters nutritionally.
- Claims that one exercise or programme is a universal solution.
- Framing exercise as punishment for eating.
